June 22-29, 2003 - Our St. Lucian Honeymoon

We took a Continental flight out of Newark that was chartered by Sandals. That's the resort we stayed at. So we were surrounding by fellow newlyweds. We also got to share a marmosa toast. First time I ever had the champagne/orange juice blend.

Another shot out the window of our 737. This was taken shortly before we landed. Wasn't a bad flight. It was really nice having Saturday to recover from the wedding and get our ducks in a row, so to speak.

Here's Jen with her little headset on. They played the movie Chicago on the way down. Not exactly my cup of tea, but Jen was interested. I chose to flip through my Reader's Digest and other reading material.

Here's me! Jen actually had the window seat for most of the way, but as soon as she left for the bathroom, I made my move.

Here's a shot off our balcony, showing the ocean below. We stayed in a two-story ocean front villa.

This is looking up the road from our place. You can see the remnants of a rain shower. It poured on the one hour drive from the airport to the resort, but after that it was little spots the rest of the week.

Jen relaxing the living room of our villa.

Me in our living room.

This is a shot of the ocean in the background and one of the three pools in the foreground. This is the largest freshwater pool in the Carribean.

Here's Jen right before we went to dinner. There were about six restaurants at the resort- though the southwestern-themed one was our fave. Nothing like corn bread and ribs...

Here's me before dinner, with a rather sly look on my face.

Here's a shot out into the ocean. There was a ton of greenery on the island. There's even a rainforest and lots of banana-growin'.

A great shot of the ocean.

Here's one of the smaller pools, with the swim-up bar peeking in on the left and the waterfalls straight ahead.

Here's a shot of some of the retro-colored buildings. Ours was blue.

Me with shades.

Here's a great pic of the lovely couple! This is the party boat I fell of the roof of. And to top it off, Jen was sea sick the whole time. I didn't let that stop me from enjoying myself- courtesy of the rum punch, champagne and the reggae beats the dj was playing.

We took a ton of pictures like this- where I'd hold the camera in front of us. They actually came good, but we tried a ton of times because I kept blinking once the light flashed.

Jen.

Awwwww.... :)

Check out the bling-bling!

Us.

Us.

Us.

Jen.

Lee-zard lee-zard.

These damn lizards were everywhere. I freaked the heck out of me- but none so much as the one that was in our living room.

These lizard pictures were acutally taken while sitting at our dinner table one night. Most of the eateries were outside.

Here's Jen on the beach our last night. Taken in pitch black with the amazing nightshot of the Canon PowerShot S30!

Us on the beach Saturday night. Night actually began a 6pm. The sun rose at 6am and set at 6pm. I was pissed since we were getting daylight till 9pm in New Jersey. Turns out since St. Lucia is right on the equator, they get a perfect 12 hours daylight, 12 hours darkness, 365 days a year.

More us. That week was the most time the two of us ever spent together and we absolutely loved it. Perfect way to top off a perfect wedding- though we agreed this is the last time we fly into a third-world country like that. Next time, break out the cruise ship!

This one is a little eerie. Maybe it's just me. Still not as eerie as those damn frogs and crickets that were so loud. As soon as the sun went down, Mother Nature cranked up her volume.
