NY/NJ Metrostars Home Opener

Fire up the grill!
Here's a little shot of me performing the grilling duties. While I did not partake in the eating of any of the hamburgers or "discount" hot dogs, I'm sure they good because they were made with love. Well we know the hot dogs weren't good though. But that was just a life lesson- whenever you see the words 'Discount' and 'Hot Dogs', run the other way. Unfortunately we did not have any breakfast sausage patties like we had at last year's US-Mexico game. Those were pretty fun to throw. So instead, Rob and I had a discus contest by giving attempts at hurling frozen hamburger patties. I think I threw my arm out after my first hurl, so I stopped. But it was a beauty. The thing took off like frisbee. I was impressed. And notice me sporting the Metrostars Red with my shirt and sweat pants. I'm sure no one there had more red than me.
Here's a picture of Ed, Stick and Mikey hanging out on the back of the van. This is a pretty cool picture of the boys. It's nice when we all get together because it doesn't really happen too often. This was the first time I was with everyone (Stick, Ed, Rob, Mikey) for an extended time since our infamous holiday outing to Tequila Joe's in December when we were almost killed at the White Castle in Newark at 3am. Now that was one crazy night.
Here's Ed helping himself to a hamburger. As you can see by his facial expression, he is well over the legal limit at the time. Some one should have cut him off! But I still need to give him props because as always, he was the one who set this whole thing up. He made sure we had all the food, all the tickets, all the time info, all the car pool info. He really puts his heart and soul into the NJB and I know it's all appreciated. For those of you who don't know, Ed recently spear-headed a money raising effort to purchase a 60'x40' USA flag, which recently arrived at his house. The thing is HUGE and HEAVY. Ninety pounds of flag.
