Tailgating with the NJB
Here's a nice picture of Mikey and Ed. Minus the cold, I think everyone had good time leading up to the game. I think our tailgate lasted about three hours, maybe a little less. We ended up going inside around six o'clock. We had to make sure that were we in there early so that we could reserve all the seats at the bottom of section 101. Ed joined us later because he was schmoozing with all the soccer bigshots since everybody knows him. He was also talking to the writer from InternetSoccer.com that wrote the article about Ed's mission to buy the big flag.
Here's a picture of me just kicking back. These were perhaps the greatest folding chairs that you could ever find. They're nice and spacious, they are comfortable, and they look pretty cool too. I especially love the little pillow thingy by my head. I think it was a mistake for me to wear those red sweatpants. While it was nice sporting the red color, those pants were paper thin and the cold pierced right through them. Luckily I brought a jacket, albeit a thin one, but it still helped cover me up a little bit.
This is when things started to get a little out of hand. I guess Mikey thought it would be a good idea to stand on the roof of the van. Notice Rob handing him a folding chair so that he didn't have to stand too long. I have to admit though, it was pretty funny looking up and seeing him on top of the van. Of course Ed had to out do him by getting on top of somebody's camper, which was twice as tall, and start throwing streamers around. And not to be outdone, Rob grabbed by marching snare drum and got up on the van and began drumming away.
I don't know how long he sat up there, but it was quite a while. He must've been really enjoying himself up there. I love Rob's expression in this picture too. What a clown. And you can also see Ed in the background looking at someone and pointing upwards at Mikey. But this is such a great picture because it says so much. It totally sums up what it is like to tailgate with the NJB. He looks like he's so happy up there, so laid back with his chair, his beer, and his flag.
